I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
